The holiday season has many traditions, but none quite as hilarious, heartwarming, and fun as watching our favorite holiday movies. And yes, while you can stream and purchase most of these movies, there is still something nostalgic about watching them on the traditional cable TV lineups! With that said, we asked our teams at a4 about their favorite holiday movies, and while there are many options, and some are subject to debate (Is “Die Hard” considered a Christmas movie?), these top five emerged as the winners!

If we love them so much — that means your audience probably does too — meaning big chances to put your business in the spotlight this holiday season!

  1. “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”

We were excited about this one, too, Clark! It's not surprising that this classic came in at No. 1! This one can be hard to find on cable and streaming, but it’s always a part of AMC's Best Christmas Ever lineup! With over 650 hours of holiday programming, AMC will air other favorites, including “Elf,” “Four Christmases,” and “Polar Express.”

2. “Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)”

There are many versions, but “Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” starring Jim Carrey, came in at No. 2! You can catch this one yearly on Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas. The month-long event made Freeform the most-watched cable network in entertainment from 6-11 p.m. (excluding sports) last year and includes some of the best holiday films, such as our third-place favorite — “Home Alone” & “Home Alone 2.”

3. “Home Alone” & “Home Alone 2”

Just how Kevin’s family managed to leave him behind twice, we still don’t know. But that doesn’t stop us from watching these two classics every year! You can catch “Home Alone” and “Home Alone 2” on Freeform starting Dec.1!

4. “A Christmas Story”

The holidays are all about tradition, and nothing says tradition more than TBS and TNT's airing of this classic for 24 hours straight starting on Christmas Eve. For over 25 years, audiences have tuned in to watch “A Christmas Story” back-to-back. In fact, “A Christmas Story” is Christmas Day's most viewed non-sports program, with millions of people tuning in at some point each year.

5. I love Hallmark Movies!

Did you know Hallmark Channel remains the most-watched entertainment cable network in the fourth quarter of each year? The network's lineup of original content brings in a large viewership. This season it's releasing 31 new holiday movies as well as past favorites!

There you have it! Some of our top holiday favorites and where to watch them this holiday season. If you’re still hoping to get your business in on all the holiday cheer, reach out to us today! Our dedicated team is ready to help you get your message in front of your audience, no matter where they are watching!
